Welcome to Cuenca

Dear Friend

On behalf of the citizens of Cuenca I welcome you to our city.

Cuenca, in the heart of Castilla-La Mancha, is the cradle of the Castilian language and of the famous Don Quijote, and is situated in a privileged position mid way between Madrid and Valencia.

In 1996 it was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, for its wealth of art and culture and for the impressive natural and ecological enclave of the Serranía de Cuenca (also awarded the denomination of Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2007).

Above all it is the people of Cuenca (60,000 inhabitants) who make this city a warm, welcoming and safe place to study in and, especially, to live an authentically Spanish experience.

Together with the UNED, the largest of Spanish Universities, we have transformed the city into a Spanish Campus where you can learn while living as one of us, and come to feel like a true Spaniard and citizen of Cuenca.
